This week

We had to look after the neighbour's chickens again. They've had so many chickens over the years, different colours, shapes, and sizes that I lose count. Even though they only have two now (the fox got the last lot), I feel kind of nostalgic. My mother kept a photo library of a lot of the chickens that they had, so now I've made a pattern out of some of them!

More ragdoll cats!

I've been working on some new designs to add to my shop, The Little Ragdoll cat. I felt like I needed more Ragdoll cat themed illustrations!

I have been busy!

I haven't been posting much recently- but I have been busy! I've been making new things, AND I've been busy finding myself some part time work to tide me over. I am also going to try approaching the cat gallery in York soon to see if they will take some of my cat things! Fingers crossed!

My great grandfather's paints

These are some old (almost 100 year old, in fact) oil paints that my mother *ahem* inherited from my great grand father- Lt. Cnl. Graham Seton Hutchison.
I really love the way that the paint has crystalised over time- it's something that you really don't see all that often.

Wednesday 19 October 2016

I also made a collage out of some of my left over train tickets.

Scotrail retweeted it, and it got so many likes and retweets from that! Sadly no extra sales though. I might try printing the design on some cards...

Another Valentines'/ anniversary card.

Here's another card that I've been working on. I'm sorry for my silence these past few weeks- life has got in the way just a little bit... I'll have more blog posts soon, though, as, as well as trying to complete a TEFL course, I have been up to some bits and bobs.

Wednesday 12 October 2016

I'm still here

It's been a bit hectic lately- we're moving home soon, and I've been super busy!

New Greeting cards

As well as all of this (yes, I've had some catching up to do!) I now have some more greeting cards available in my shop. Check them out, and if you feel like doing so- support me! Even the smallest purchase means a lot!

Jeremy Corbyn

I've written a little blog on why I support Jeremy Corbyn's fiscal policies for the country on Mouthy Money (I'll link to it once it's up). I'm also planning on writing a little bit over on my political blog. For now, here's a little illustration to go with it.

Clip Art Sets

I have been very busy lately, trying to make some clip art sets to add to my Etsy shop (after noticing that there wasn't actually that much quality Scottish clipart available on the site). I am also in the process of creating a Japanese monster set. More to follow soon!

Wedding stationery

I've made a start on our wedding stationery- I've put together a watercolour floral pattern to use here,  with thistles and roses.

Monday 4 July 2016

The Necropolis

So I took another walk through the Glasgow Necropolis. The weather, on the whole, held up for me, but it did start raining as I started to leave (it's my luck, really). I think that I managed to take some good reference photographs for a short graphic novel that I'm working on, as well as some slightly artsier shots of the Victorian stone masonry that the Necropolis has to offer.

A new greeting card- No Otter One

Another wee greeting card that I designed around sea otters, holding each other's hand. It's been a rough week and a half, but I think that I am almost seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Illustration Friday- Yarn

So here's my Illustration Friday post for this week. Yarn. The "L" key on my computer seems to have broken, so I have to get it fixed :-(

Monday 6 June 2016

Illustration Friday- Nose

This is my IF submission, but I'm going to do a little bit more to it, and turn it into a greeting card design.

Thursday 2 June 2016

Illustration Friday- tribal

Here's a quickie- native american teepee headdress :-) a chief looking after his tribe.

Wednesday 25 May 2016

My new fabric arrived!

And I think I'm quite pleased with it- Viscera, hedgehogs, and ragdoll cats.  I'm going to donate a portion of my profit from the stuff I make with the ragdoll fabric to the  British Ragdoll Cat Club's rehoming program.

Logos.

So I've updated my shop logo- mostly because my old one was rendered in ink, and I've been thinking more long term, in that I needed a vector image, so I went ahead and made one. I'm not going to change the branding of my bags just yet though, I think I'm going to save that for when I get married and actually change my name.

Illustration Friday, Nostalgia

So this week's topic is nostalgia. I thought  I'd pop this Isle of Wight pattern on here, inspired by my holidays on the island. You can also check out my fabric in the shop here

Viscera pattern

So I tried this in both black and pink, people generally seemed to like the pink more, so I've ordered that one to be printed for now, but I do think that I prefer the black for the contrast of it, maybe I'll get it printed around halloween.

Friday 6 May 2016

I have another card design

So I'd been toying with this little idea for a while, and when I finally got around to getting it printed, I reluctantly couldn't have an actual heart in the photoshoot, partly because (somewhat ironically) being a vegetarian and not owning a dog I couldn't think of an appropriate way to dispose of it once I was done, and I think I'd also be a little too scared to have that much blood so close to my greeting cards.

Still, I quite like the way it turned out. If you like what I do, please consider supporting me by purchasing a greetings card with this design on it here
